A perfectly blue sky with not a single cloud visible on the horizon – finest bluebird welcomed the shredqueens on March, 24! The view of the freshly shaped setup – in addition to the sunshine – increased the stoke-levels of about 40 girls and the coaches. After a brief warm-up the girls kicked off the shred session: Coached by the Blue Tomato Team riders, they got a lot of pro-tips and shred-tricks to improve their riding throughout the day. “Progressing a lot and simply having fun” – that was the plan, which the freeskiers and their coach Regina Rathgeb made for the day.
The snowboarders stuck to that plan too – and thanks to the helpful tips of Sabina Lindmoser Pintar the park beginners could slide the first boxes soon. And the girls who went shredding with coach Christina Katefidis found perfectly challenging obstacles along the 1,8 km long Kings Park too.
At midday the girls met up at the Chill Area again: Barbecue-Time! With burgers, served by Blue Tomato, the girls could recharge their energy levels for the next runs. And they also got one or two extra tips from the coaches, while chilling in deckchairs with the best view of the park.
The end of the day was celebrated with a Goodies 4 Tricks-session in the upper part of park: Under the watchful eyes of the coaches, the shredqueens hiked rainbow box and tube. One board slide after another – “that’s real progression!”, the coaches commented and reached into the box full of goodies, filled with stuff from QParks and Blue Tomato. The QParks media crew also captured the Blue Tomato Girls Day on camera: Freeski Edit, Snowboard Edit and pictures of the new tricks are online now! Aside from new memories and friends, the girls could also take home a goodie bag from Blue Tomato, Golden Ride and QParks.
Bluebird, motivated shredqueens and progression all day long – “We simply had a great time!”, Coach Regi summarized the day on point.
