aka. ROXY Girls Shred Sessions
19.02.2025

This year’s first stop of the ROXY GSS at Penken Park in Mayrhofen was a day to remember, filled with high-energy action, positive vibes, and undeniable progress from female snowboarders and freeskiers alike.

The event brought together a diverse group of female shredders with unique skills and backgrounds for a day of coaching, learning and pushing limits. With a strong emphasis on supporting the female freestyle community, this was more than just a day in the park; it celebrated female empowerment in freestyle snowboarding and freeskiing.

ROXY Girls Shred Session in Mayrhofen:

The day kicked off with excitement and camaraderie under perfect bluebird skies. The ROXY Girls Shred Sessions was designed to offer female shredders a platform to grow and improve, with a stellar lineup of accomplished female snowboarders and skiers coaching. It was an inspiring opportunity for participants to work on their tricks, connect with role models breaking barriers in snowboarding and skiing, and connect with a fantastic crew of female riders.

The perfect conditions set a stage for what turned out to be an incredible day of progression – from the start, riders made the most out of the sunshine, stepping up to practice their tricks at Penken Park. An inspiring range of skills was on display, from boardslides on boxes to more advanced tricks on tubes, kickers and rails. Coaches and ROXY Athletes were on hand to offer individual advice, guidance and demos, helping participants build confidence in the park.

Whether participants were learning to tackle the more technical elements or dialing in their tricks on obstacles, everyone was encouraged to push themselves and step outside their comfort zones. The crews' support was contagious, creating an environment where everyone felt comfortable trying something new, no matter their skill level.

Throughout the day, the sense of community and camaraderie remained steadfast. Coaches offered technical tips and abundant encouragement, ensuring every shredder felt motivated and empowered to progress. The ladies cheered on one another, exchanging high fives and celebrating each other's successes - this served as a lovely reminder that events like these are about supporting and growing together.

As the day went on, the energy was nothing short of electric. From smooth boardslides on rails to landing bigger tricks on jumps, there was no shortage of progression. The smiles were broad, the stoke was high, and everyone - coaches and riders alike - left the event feeling like they had achieved something truly special. All the action was captured by a fabulous female photographer and an additional filmmaker, to ensure these memories will live on forever.

By the session's end, participants had gained new skills and formed lasting connections with like-minded shredders. The event reaffirmed the importance of community in freestyle sports and highlighted how essential it is to have female representation at the forefront of the action.

Here we would like to show you a Vimeo video.
